Speakers
The Betts House can provide a speaker for your organization! Our staff have given presentations to the Cincinnati Women's Club, Delhi Historical Society, Ft. Thomas Lions Club, Hawthorne Club, Price Hill Historical Society, and the Westwood Historical Society. Presentations on the following subjects are available:

  • The Betts House,
  • The 1811-1812 New Madrid Earthquakes,
  • 19th century lifestyles, or
  • a presentation can be tailored to your group.

Educator Materials & School Outreach
The Betts House is pleased to offer FREE state-standard-based materials for 4th and 8th grade science and social studies teachers to use in conjunction with our exhibit The Big Shake.

The Betts House also provides FREE in-classroom activities. Betts House staff are available to visit your classroom and give one of the following presentations
  • Earthquakes 101,
  • Earthquakes-vs-Buildings, or
  • The New Madrid Earthquakes and Cincinnati.
Single presentations are 45-60 minutes each. A combination of the three presentations is a 90 minute program. We can also tailor a program to suit your class. In-classroom programs also include family passes so students can visit The Betts House and the exhibit with their families outside of the school day.

Consider a field trip to The Betts House! Located near Music Hall, the Fire Museum of Greater Cincinnati, and the Cincinnati Museum Center at Union Terminal, The Betts House is a great place to stop with your group. School and home-school groups can tour The Betts House at FREE of charge. We can also adapt our in-classroom activities to enrich your field trip experience.
